The Youth Football Club of Mint Hill (YFCMH), aka Mint Hill Mountaineers and Chargers was incorporated in April of 2007, by founder Mike Fairfax.  It is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to serve the youth in Mint Hill and surrounding areas with a football and cheer program where they can learn, grow and aspire under exceptional and respectable coaches and assistants.

YFCMH currently serves over 150 youth football players and cheerleaders from Mint Hill and surrounding areas including Charlotte, Matthews, Indian Trail, Pineville and Harrisburg. Our participants range from the novice in ability to the highly experienced.

YFCMH fields a range of teams from flag to 8th grade tackle. Our flag team serves ages 5 to 6 years old and we field tackle teams for ages 6 up through 13 years old. Divisions fielded are as follows:

National Division (Mountaineers):  Flag 6U, Tiny Mite,  Mitey Mite, Cadet, Jr Pee Wee, Pee Wee – all age and weight restricted


YFCMH is a member of Greater Charlotte American Youth Football (GCAYF) and affiliated with American Youth Football (AYF). AYF is the world’s LARGEST youth football and cheer organization providing a wholesome competitiveness while also teaching youth through positive role models. Emphasis is on learning, playing and enjoying the sport while instilling high moral standards by stressing the importance of academic achievement and community involvement. AYF Age/Weight Requirements: max stripped weight

Flag 5, 6 year olds  – No weight requirement

Tiny Mite 7U to 90lbs

Mitey Mite 9U to 105lbs

10U Unlimited Weight

12U Unlimited Weight


age cutoff for all divisions is July 31st of current season year
